Okay, this is it, the last page for chapter 3! I hope you’re all enjoying the story so far. I’ve had such fun drawing this, it’s certainly a massive learning curve for me! Anyway, I am going to take a small break now to catch up on pages and create a backlog. Life has slightly snatched me away and I am pretty far behind on this comic (in comparisons to where I want to be). I am also dropping to one page uploads per week for now as I’ve been over-working myself and starting to feel the pinch (plus family is telling me off for looking so tired all the time!)

I only just found this comic to instantly find out that you are taking a break, just my luck. Oh well, I suppose I can spend that time praising you and your incredible talents. I am a mayor fan of different types of webcomics. Comedy, romance, adventure, action, fantasy, drama, horror, HD quality or mediocre art, love them (as long as they are good ofcourse). This webcomic? TOTALLY LOVE IT.
The art is by far some of the better works out there(like in my top 5 of favorite webcomic artists) , and the characters and storyline are very interesting.
I can’t wait for you to continue with the story, but you should enjoy your well deserved break. See you on the other side of relaxation Nat.

I’m really pleased you are enjoying the comic, and you think this highly of it! I am wanting to not just take a small break, but also give myself some extra time to think about my comic, I hope to improve how it looks and also make sure the story will be something worth reading!
I don’t take very long breaks, just small ones to catch up, I am hoping to upload a new page next Friday 😀 Thank you for taking the time to read and comment, it’s appreciated and always great to hear what people think!
Then I shall be looking forward to Friday. And short breaks are never a bad thing. It’s better for the artist to take a short break than to rush through things to make the deadline.
And ofcourse I take my time to read such a great comic. And commenting is sort of a given. I know that it feels far more rewarding when someone appreciates what you make and tells you than never hearing about it. You deserve to know how much I love your work!
I was wondering about something. Amie managed to survive for several (at least weeks based on the families decomposition) without a gasmask, when Cara was ready to kill herself after just a few minutes of exposure. I can imagine that the hallucination might be different for each and every one of them, but still :/
Also I really wonder how the family died. Faulty gasmasks seems possible, but 3 at the same time? Amie could’ve killed them because of the effect of the gas, but they didn’t look like they tried to defend themselves, and there were no clear indications of shovel bludgeoning. They could’ve starved, but Amie survived for weeks after that without having to resort to eating her family, so I am kind of stumped here on how it happened…. :/
The gas does effect people differently, I don’t want to go too much into it now because I want to explain via the comic. The story behind what happened in that house is vague in the comic, but I did think it out before hand, only leaving small clues around so people can interpret it as they will without it getting too depressing. The general gist is that she smothered them as they slept, afterwards displaying her family in each others arms like they were resting and cuddled up, putting gas masks on them as if everything is normal (plus so not to see their faces). We kind of see it that she actually became insane before the gas even got to her. Having less mouths to feed, she is has more food for herself (what little of it she may have left). I have written a lot of back story and extra things that will never make it into the comic as it’s simply for writers reference so we understand our characters better. Sorry if there is any confusion! But we are not wanting to give too much away just yet 😛 Nice to see questions are being asked and that people are thinking about the chapters!

Wow! I just discovered your comic and I’m really enjoying it. The art is delightful – wonderfully atmospheric and, um, glowy (technical term there :P). I really like the way you use light and shadow.
Cool story, too… Suddenly there’s a girl. With a scar. And a gas mask. In a city. In ruins. With robots. In hiding. From…vigilantes? Cops? Hackers? OK, totally hooked. In fact, I was getting into it so much I think the gas affected me. While I was reading it last night I had a problem with several of the pages just turning up blank (37 & 48 were two I remember). And then there was a page that was all blank (completely white) except for a line of text at the top that said something like “the screen is going to explode off the display in 10, 9, 8…” I swear I’m not making this up! But… tonight everything seems to be fine. Weird, eh? o.O
Anyway, great work. Gotta go now. I’ve got a comic to continue reading from where I left it. 8^)

Sorry about those blank white screens, I think I need to talk to my host about them. Apparently they happen when I have a larger amount of traffic than usual. There’s nothing I can do which is frustrating! Did you manage to see all the pages eventually?
And yes, that screen will appear if a host is being blocked from accessing pages that don’t exist 😛 I had an issue with hackers recently so had to up the security! But wanted to make the messages somewhat more interesting that “error, you’ve been banned”….
