Happy Friday everyone! Just thought I’d also share this, though the information hasn’t gone live yet on the website (I’M IMPATIENT!) I wanted to start advertising it to let everyone know that this is totally in progress!
Yep! Looks like I am going to be teaching evening classes at the University I went to >w<!! Really excited! I hope I can put my knowledge to good use, as well as have a good time in helping people develop their ideas @w@;; we shall see!

FART JOKE
The only real way to relieve the tension when things have been getting that serious.

I LOVE how the story now focuses on readhead’s farts instead of building the world round those farts. Adds a certain charm.

I like how the characters are being humanized here. The folks in charge are prickly, but at least as far as the people in this strip go, they’re more than just ominously ambiguous potential antagonists.
I’m not really a fan of fart jokes–especially in a series where the main over-arching threat is “the gas”–but I have to admit it serves the same humanizing purpose: Flatulating is something everyone does. Trying (and sometimes failing) to be polite about it and not subject others to it is something that most people will be able to sympathize with. You can’t think of this guy as just some nameless, pointless representative of scary post-apocalyptic isolationism now.
In all honesty, I never actually set out to make a fart joke, just something that everyone probably goes through to apply to a character to help show that they are only human, just like you and I. I am glad it seems to be working!!
I also love to show diversity in a community, everyone is different, and though a lot of these characters are background, just like in RL, the people we barely know still have personality, which can be shown in the simplest ways 🙂
